Stitches: Pieces for Krystal Bailey

Did some sewing for Krystal Bailey.  I've had her for over a year and not made her anything, so she got an oversized cardigan and some thigh high stockings.  The thigh high pattern is from Requiem Art Designs.  The oversized sweater is my own pattern.  I like the teensy gap between her skirt and the thigh highs.  Very cute.

Christmas Unboxing: Phoebe & Jassy from Crybabies BFF

Merry Christmas!  I'm celebrating today with a double unboxing!  I got more than two dolls for Christmas, but I wanted to space them out, so the next couple will be in a few weeks.

My Doll Collecting Story for 2023

My dolly collecting life has been pretty exciting this year.  In January, I was collecting old Equestria Girls dolls.  By February, I had a few complete sets of the Mane 6, and a few Sunset Shimmer.  In March, I went back to Rainbow High YET AGAIN!  This time, instead on working on new characters, I started focusing on filling in older characters I didn't have dolls of yet, like Skyler Bradshaw.  In April, I tried out Crybabies BFF dolls.  Then, my spring and summer were jam packed with dolls.  In May, I got a bunch of Monster High g3 dolls, starting with a Twyla I got for my birthday.  June, I got a bunch more Monster High dolls.   Now I think I have 8.  July, I went absolutely nuts and rebought every FailFix doll I missed and wanted.

Stitches: Jenna and Katie's Pajamas

I spent most of my free productive time last week working on these pajamas for Jenna and Katie.  I drafted the patterns, I cut out and sewed the garments, then I painted cute designs on the front with fabric paint. I intend to also sew bathrobes and fuzzy socks, but we'll see how it goes.  I'm very pleased with the painting.  It doesn't look professional, but it looks personal.  Now I want to make jammies like this for all my dolls.  I have a lot of dolls, and more dolls incoming, so we'll see how it goes.

Friends Forever Club series 2 Fashion Packs

Friends Forever Club dolls got a new series of fashion packs.  Since they're the second wave of them, I'm calling them series 2.  There are 6 outfits in all, but I only bought 4.  Here is my in depth review.

Unboxing: Daria Roselyn from Rainbow High series 3

Daria Roselyn is my November doll.  I got her early because prices are gonna go up on the second hand market before Christmas.  No more doll shopping until after Christmas.

Shadow High: Shanelle Onyx & Natasha Zima

Shanelle Onyx and Natasha Zima are two dolls I got last Christmas, but never took photos of before now.  I regret not capturing their unboxings, but at long last, they get a photo shoot.

Friends Forever Club Dolls series 1 Fashion Packs

 

What I've always dreamed of, a doll line with fashion packs that wasn't Barbie.  Are they a cringy disaster? Absolutely.  I knew they were bad too, before I got them.  But I want these dollar store dolls to succeed, so I sunk a little more money into them.  A toy reviewer theorized the dolls were sold at a loss so they could sell fashion packs at a profit.  And if the dolls don't turn a profit, they'll be discontinued.  So I bought bad fashion packs on purpose.

Dollar Tree Exclusive: Friends Forever Club Dolls

I saw bits and pieces about this doll line a few months ago, but it was a dollar store line, so I paid it no mind.  However, now that my financial situation has changed, dollar store finds have become a lot more appealing.  These are called the Friends Forever Club, however they don't appear to be associated with the anti-bullying organization of the same name.

Today, my October doll arrived.  Since I can only get one doll per month right now, she's my October doll.  She's not in her factory packaging, because I bought her second hand on Ebay, but I got her from another collector, so she seemed in really good shape.

These two desperately needed some attention, and my bipolar ass is back on Rainbow High.  Rainbow High dolls are so beautiful.  When I'm not obsessing over Rainbow High dolls, I'm trying to fill the void Rainbow High leaves with fucking anything doll-like.

Chatter: From a strong current, to a trickle.

Last time I had one of these long, wordy entries, I had finished collecting everyone I wanted from the Monster High cast and was wondering where to go from there.  At that point, I'd decided to work on FailFix and BFFs, and  I then proceeded to buy every FailFix doll in rapid succession.  I went a little crazy, and ordered every character I wanted and all their pets.  I unboxed most of them, some of their pets are still in the packaging.  The reason I binged was because I was anticipating my husband's layoff and wanted to stock up on dolls when the going was good.  (I also stashed a lot of money in savings, don't worry!)

Bet'cha didn't expect to see these weirdos again, did'ja?  Randomly, for no reason at all, I took them out of their box, finished sewing Jenna's summer outfit, and took some new photos.

Unboxing: Failfix SlayItDJ

This is the last Failfix doll I got, SlayItDJ.  Her pics have been sitting in my phone for 2 months, waiting to be uploaded, 3 months?  I dunno.

Unboxing: Snow White

This is the most current playline edition of Disney Princess Snow White, as sold by the Disney Store brand.  This is my first Disney Princess doll since I was a child, so a long ass time.  I can't remember, but she might be my first Snow White doll ever.  I certainly waited a long time.

Ever After High, Miraculous Windfall

Something miraculous has happened.  10 years after they came out, I have been gifted some New In Box Ever After High dolls.

Yesterday, I unboxed PreppiPosh from FailFix.  I got the Day version, which I'm very happy with.

Part of FailFix wave 2 was pets that also needed makeovers.  The process is largely the same minus the outfit.  This is PrettyArtee's pet, ArteePup. 

Unboxing: LovesGlam from FailFix

This is LovesGlam from FailFix.  She's my third FailFix doll this time around.  I've never had this character before, I didn't get her last time.  She's plus sized and very pretty.  Her hair took forever to dry, but a day later is better than never.

I got another one.  Two more, in fact, but I only opened one today.  Unboxing FailFix dolls is a long ass event.  This is KawaiiQtee, arguably the most popular doll of this very unpopular line.  Her dress had art stolen off the internet, so there was some drama.  But I don't care, I own her again, and will never give her up again.

This was my afternoon, I spent most of it working on cleaning up the FailFix PrettyArtee.  I'm not complaining, it's an absolute pleasure to do.  Normally I don't do unboxings anymore, but unboxing is really a big part of the experience with FailFix dolls, so I took many pictures.

Update: My Doll Collecting Future

Recently, I had a conversation about my doll collecting future with my husband.  Since my Monster High roster feels complete, and I'm actively making an effort not to buy Rainbow High anymore, I've been eyeing other doll and toy lines to collect.

YAAAAAASSSSS Abbey is here!  And she's so freaking tall!  I'm pretty sure she's taller than Frankie, and thicker than Draculaura.  She's gorgeous!  I'm so excited to have her, OMG.

My Little Pony: g1 Repros Collector's Set Complete

I've finally completed my set of 6 generation 1 series 1 My Little Pony reproductions.  I had an original Snuzzle when I was a kid, and she is precious to me.

Monster High Lagooona

I've had poor Lagoona for over a week and she still hasn't gotten a blog post yet.  Shame on me.  She arrived on the same day as Cleo, but had to wait much longer for an unboxing or any attention.

Stitches, Monster High Prototype Outfit

 I know this is just one picture and it's pretty boring, but this is like a week's worth of work, measuring the dolls, drafting the patterns, cutting out the pieces, and hand-sewing the pink leggings and black dress you see on Ghoulia.  I wish I'd done the dress in gray, so it'd be easier to see than black, but oh well.  I need to adjust the patterns a bit, but they work hella good.  

Monster High Cleo (and Frankie)

I unboxed Cleo today, and immediately took Clankie pics.  Clankie is the Cleo and Frankie ship.  I did not come up with it.  It's canon.  No complaints.

Monster High Ghoulia

 

I've always wanted a g1 Ghoulia.  She was a character that spoke to me as a zombie and a nerd.  I'm so glad she's back with g3.  She looks super cute and super nerdy!  G3 is just making all my dreams come true, you know?

Monster High Binge

 

I went a little crazy and have a lot more Monster High dolls now.  They are readily available and low price right now, so why not?  I've paid 17$ for each, aside from Twyla, who was a gift.

 This is the other doll I got for my birthday.  It's Twyla from Monster High g3, a gift from my sister.  I've always wanted a g1 Twyla, but never got one, but this g3 version is very sweet looking.

Stitches: Katie's Summer Outfit

 Today, I finished BFF Katie's summer outfit.  It's a t-shirt and shorts, using the same patterns as Jenna's outfit, but everything's shorter.  These dolls are super cute, and I'm mad crazy inspired.  Sadly, they don't get very many likes on social media.  This doll line is not popular at all.  In fact, I fear it may not make a third series.  But it got a series 2, which means series 1 sold at least well enough to warrant making more.  I really like this line, and I'm itching to buy more.

Stitches: BFF Jenna's first outfit

 I drafted some sewing patterns the day I got Jenna, and it was important to me to test them out ASAP.  I'm glad I bought a bunch of pastel knits I was planning to sew for other dolls, because they go perfectly with the BFF's color palettes.  Most of them are in pastels.  I made two patterns, a top/dress pattern, and a legging pattern.  Both fit pretty perfectly.

I tried to go until my birthday without buying a new doll, but clearly it can't be done.  I've been eyeing these BFF dolls since they were showcased at a toy show last year, and currently series 1 is super cheap, so I ordered this Jenna doll to test them out.

I'm buying Rainbow High dolls again.  After exploring other doll lines, Bratz, Equestria Girls, and Be Kind, I've come to the conclusion I just want more Rainbow High dolls.

Bella is a doll I got a year ago, unboxed, and did nothing with until now.  I feel so bad, because she's such a good girl.  So, I've dedicated this entire week to her, and sewing her clothes.  After many full days of hand-stitching, she has two new pairs of pants, and a new pair of knee socks.  I might have to dedicate another week, maybe a whole month.  She needs things.

New Doll: Daisy from Be Kind

 

This is Daisy, from the B Kind doll line by Jada Toys.  She is made out of recycled plastic and comes with a craft kit.  She originally sold for $30, but I got her on clearance.

Equestria Girls Progress Pic

 Progress pic for my Equestria Girls collection.  I have the mane 6 all cleaned up and complete now.  Next, I'm gonna track down Sunset Shimmer and Flash Sentry, then I'm going to start tracking down articulated bodies for all them.  Flash Sentry only comes with good articulation, so I don't have to worry about him, but the rest are all permanently T posing!

Equestria Girls Original VS Reboot

 I got a handful of used original Equestria Girls dolls from Ebay.  They are drastically different from the reboot dolls I have the complete set of.

Friends of Equestria, My Little Pony G4 boxed set

 This is my new collection of G4 pony toys.  They all came in one big boxed set.  Since I didn't have any G4 toys aside from the miniatures and some plushies, I figured a boxed set was a good move for me.  The box featured the Mane 6, Spike, 3 princesses, and a bonus Minty.
