This was my afternoon, I spent most of it working on cleaning up the FailFix PrettyArtee. I'm not complaining, it's an absolute pleasure to do. Normally I don't do unboxings anymore, but unboxing is really a big part of the experience with FailFix dolls, so I took many pictures.
First, PrettyArtee had to be shipped from Florida. These dolls were discontinued 2 years ago and are now rare, but not expensive, since most people don't want them.
In the packaging, her outfit is hidden by a plastic bathrobe, and her hair is gelled up in gravity defying loops. She has a mask on that makes her face look like her makeup is messed up.
This is what she looks like first cut out of the box. The packaging is really tight. It took a lot of cutting to get her out. Her shoes and accessories are stuck in her hair.
This is the bubble mask which comes with the doll. You use it to pull off the imperfect makeup face mask. This is reusable, but I don't see myself doing it.
After removing her mask, you can see her nicer face underneath. As per the instructions, I've brushed her hair one lock at a time with the included detangler brush. Her hair is very fluffy at this point.
I took it a step further and washed and conditioned my doll's hair. These are the products I use specifically on dolls. I washed her hair in warm tap water, then let it sit with conditioner for 10 minutes, then rinsed it out and let her air dry for a few hours.
Here's the final look, with her hair dry and brushed, and her clothes and accessories on. I'm so grateful that these dolls come with stands. I really like these dolls. Since she only comes with a screen name, I'm naming her Artemis. I've ordered a few more of these, so look forward to more unboxings.
