Oh my goodness gracious me! Look, it's a modern Jem doll. I've dreamed of an affordable, accessible, modern Jem doll for decades. I was born just a little too late to get her when she was current, but I am over the moon to have this doll. It was a religious experience unboxing her today.
The back of the box has all her original artwork, just like tiny childhood me remembers it! It's so bright and colorful! I love it!
Here's the goddess herself, on a stand that plays a bit of her theme song when you hit a button. She's so beautiful! She has tons of articulation, nylon hair, her signature outfit! I love her face, it's even better than the original. She looks incredible.
Here's a close up on her face. They went with a sort of anime art style, while keeping it realistic enough. And she has her signature magic earrings, which do not appear to be removable.
Here's her second outfit. It looks like a hospital gown without the belt, but I think the belt saves it. I don't think Jerrica wears glasses, but I appreciate them anyway, Jem can be in her nerd era. The hat does not stay on at all, but oh well.
After taking pictures, I gave her a hot rinse in the sink and put an elastic around her head to tame her hair down for a few hours. Since it's winter, the hair dries really fast. This is what her hair looked like a few hours later, much better than before. Currently, she is on my desk, enjoying my adoration.
