Profile: Feebee

Feebee is my fourth doll, and my first ball-jointed doll.  She's very different from my other dolls, made with her limbs strung together instead of plastic pegs, and she has removable eyes and a wig.

Her first name was In Hyung, because she's a Korean doll, and In Hyung is Korean for doll.  I named her rather hastily because everyone was calling her Alien and I didn't want it to stick.  By the next day, the name Feebee struck me as a much better one. I know the name is traditionally spelled Phoebe, but I wanted to use Feebee instead.

Because of the different materials, my regular acrylics didn't stick to her head, so her face-up was done by my friend Eno.  While Feebee was at Eno's house, Eno's mom knitted a hat and scarf for Feebee.  That's my favorite hat on her.  Feebee's wig that I made is very puffy without it.  I made her wig out of fake fur.  That made a big mess. :p

Since her limbs are strung instead of pegged on, she's actually better for hugging.  She doesn't pose as well as the other dolls, but is great to have in your lap.  Pair that up with those big blue eyes and a preference for fuzzy clothes and she's almost a plush toy.  She's definitely unique.  With my other dolls, I feel like they need another to be their friend, to be sets of two.  Feebee seems to prefer being the only of her kind.  I got her on August 26th, 2011.
