I need to reassess. I feel directionless and uninspired, which sucks. Maybe looking at my earlier goals while I still have time to work on them. Yeah, real life is sucky, but I need to focus!
1. Dolly Documentation. I haven't been doing too bad on this, kinda. My goal was to have 52 dolls listed in my doll database, and I have 49, but most of them are pretty new, so I'm not really making progress on my older dolls. I started to make progress during Equestria Girls Summer, but ran out of steam after 1 month. I think I was trying to do entirely too much with them. I would like to photograph and document more of my older dolls.
2. Doll Sewing. I haven't been consistent, but I have done a bit of sewing. Lots of pattern drafting, which takes time and is exhausting. It sucks, but the more patterns I draft, the easier I can work on projects later? Maybe I should make a list of doll body types and see how many patterns I have and have yet to do, approach this with some organization.
3. Controlled Doll Buying. Well, I did panic buy some dolls in April, but things have slowed down. I bought 2 dolls in May, 0 dolls in June, and 2 dolls in July, with the intention of not buying any more for the foreseeable future. I bought some Barbies so that I could buy them clothes throughout the year and still enjoy getting new things for a while longer.
4. Equestria Girls Summer. I could not maintain momentum. It was a 3 month project and I lasted one month. But I got 3 dolls finished, and did the pattern drafting to help me with the rest. I've taken a month off. Maybe I can get back on this, as long as I'm only working on the dolls, not the dolls, movies, fanart, and books. That was too much.
So, for the rest of the year, I'm going to try to balance keeping things fresh with new Barbie fashion packs, with working on cleaning up and completing older dolls like Equestria Girls, so everyone can be added to the doll database! I might add drafting patterns for everybody as a goal for next year, if I finish the doll database this year.
